WHEN Stacey Holmes’ fiancé showed her a picture of his dream home, it was a carbon copy of the one they found at Parc Ceirw Garden Village in Morriston.

It wasn’t just the appearance that made the couple fall in love with their four-bedroom Farnham detached property from Bluebell Homes – it fulfilled their ultimate wish list too.

“It was the apex window at the front that sold it,” says Stacey. “It was so beautiful; it took our breath away.

“As we walked around the show home, we could imagine ourselves living here and building our future. We’re getting married this year and I’ll be getting ready from here, and I could picture it all happening. We both knew straight away.”

Civil servant, Stacey and partner Will Boden, a restaurateur, both 30, were looking for home where they could start a family and had a long list of other ‘must haves’ to tick off.

“We wanted lots of space. I have a big family and we love hosting, and this house with its dining kitchen is ideal for hosting,” explains Stacey. “Because I work from home, we wanted office space for me that had a view – my old one looked out at a wall.

“The study in our new home is at the front, with amazing views –pictures don’t do it justice. Our neighbours agree that we can’t believe we wake up to these views every day.”

Boasting a double-fronted exterior, the Farnham has a welcoming hallway leading to the separate lounge and study at the front. At the rear is a spacious kitchen, dining and family area with doors leading out into the garden.

Upstairs are four generously-sized bedrooms, the main with a luxurious en-suite shower room and a dressing room, plus there’s a family bathroom.

They’ve made one of the bedrooms into a home gym, enabling them to workout around their busy schedules.

“Moving here has allowed us to have a better quality of life, and a better environment to live in. We are so lucky,” Stacey says.

Having initially seen the development on social media, Stacey and Will created a home Instagram account, boden_home.

“I like home styling and, because I have a stressful job, the Instagram account is a great way to relax. Following other residents has also helped us find out more about the development and keep in the loop, and to get to know our neighbours,” Stacey explains.

She says her previous two-bedroom home in Swansea was only big enough for one person and that they needed somewhere bigger, that would become their family home, after Will relocated from Essex.

“I expected bills to increase because this is a bigger house, but while people in older properties have started to put their heating on now, our home is so well insulated we don’t need to, it’s so hot,” Stacey says.

Parc Ceirw Garden Village features houses from both Edenstone Group’s brands, Bluebell Homes and Edenstone Homes, with everything from two-bedroom starter homes to larger four-bedroom detached properties, along with sought-after bungalows.

As well as 300 homes, it will eventually feature a host of facilities that will enable residents to enjoy a happier and healthier way of living, including an equipped circular outdoor fitness trail and a gym within a community hub.

“The garden village feels safe, like a gated community without the gates. There is a community element which we love – with everything on your doorstep, you wouldn’t ever have to leave,” Stacey adds.
